This Privacy Policy describes how DongBot ("the Bot", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Bot in your Discord server or visit dongbot.net.
What We Collect
Discord Interactions
When you use a DongBot slash command, Discord sends us the interaction payload. This includes:
- Your Discord user ID (the command invoker)
- The Discord user ID or role ID you mention in the command
- The server (guild) ID where the command was used
This data is used only to generate and return the Bot's response. It is not stored, logged, or retained after the interaction is complete.
Website Analytics
The dongbot.net website uses PostHog to collect anonymous analytics, including:
- Pages visited
- Referring URLs
- General browser and device information
No personally identifiable information is associated with these analytics events. You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not store message content, command history, or usage logs tied to individual users.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or any account information beyond the Discord user/role IDs necessary to process a command.
- We do not use cookies on the website beyond what PostHog requires for analytics.
Third-Party Services
DongBot uses the following third-party services:

When a quote is generated, a prompt is sent to OpenAI. No user-specific data is included in that request.
Data Retention
DongBot does not maintain a database of user data. Interaction data exists only in memory for the duration of processing a command and is discarded immediately after the response is sent.
Children's Privacy
DongBot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the Bot, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of DongBot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
